Mike Rockenfeller

With a career defined by endurance and speed, Mike “Rocky” Rockenfeller is one of motorsport’s most accomplished drivers. This German powerhouse has taken wins across some of the sport’s most gruelling races, including two victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a Nürburgring 24 Hours triumph and titles in the Porsche Carrera Cup, the Le Mans Series and in DTM.

Like many of his peers, Rocky started out in go-karts where he quickly proved his mettle and earned his first trophies. After a brief stint in single-seaters, he stepped into the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, showcasing the exceptional talent that led to a championship victory in 2004.

In 2005, he claimed victory in the GT2 class of the FIA GT Championship and triumphed in GT2 at both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Spa. A year later, he claimed victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, solidifying his reputation as an endurance ace.

A move to Audi Sport in 2007 was the start of an incredible run for the young German, which saw him competing for outright wins at Le Mans and in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) series. His determination was rewarded in 2008 when he became Le Mans Series Champion (LMP1) and again in 2013 when he was crowned DTM Champion.

In 2010 Rocky scored two massive endurance wins, first at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, then later that year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking his card as one of the best endurance racers in the world.

In 2023 he was part of the historic NASCAR Garage 56 campaign at Le Mans, racing alongside Jenson Button and Jimmie Johnson, sharing the sights and sounds of NASCAR with race fans from around the world.

A familiar presence in the IMSA paddock, Rockenfeller has an enduring passion for U.S. racing. In 2023, he piloted a Porsche 963 in the GTP class for JDC-Miller Motorsports, before signing with Ford Multimatic Motorsports to race the new Ford Mustang GT3 in 2024. Alongside teammate Harry Tincknell, Rocky helped achieve the Mustang GT3’s first IMSA podium with a second-place finish at VIR in 2024. In 2025, he continues to race the #64 Mustang in the IMSA series with his new team-mate, Seb Priaulx.

Off the track, Rocky lives in Landschlacht, Switzerland, with his wife and children. He is a skilled mechanic so, if he manages to get any spare time, he likes to spend it working in old cars in his garage.
