Ford Performance Reveals All-New GT4 Race Car

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (November 1st, 2016) – Ford Performance has revealed a new, track-ready race car based on the championship-winning Ford Shelby GT350R-C.

The Ford Mustang GT4 has been designed and engineered jointly by Ford Performance and Multimatic Motorsports to compete in GT4-level race categories globally, racing in such series as the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (GS), Pirelli World Challenge (GTS/G4), and the GT4 European Series.

“As the Mustang nameplate continually expands its presence in markets throughout the world, so does our relevant motorsport presence,” explained Ford Performance Global Director David Pericak. “The Mustang GT4 is equipped to compete and win on tracks around the globe, and we expect it to be as popular with racers as its production sibling is with consumers.”

Beyond the required FIA-compliant safety equipment, the Mustang GT4 also features Multimatic-designed suspension components including Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV™) dampers, front and rear anti-roll bars, and revised rear lower control arms. Aerodynamic enhancements include a front splitter, dive planes, hood venting, rear diffuser, and a rear wing designed using lessons learned from the Ford GT racing program.
