Joe Foster has been racing professionally for over 25 years and has been competing at the top levels of American sports car racing since 1998. Joe has been successful in various forms of racing around the world from karting to Formula Ford 1600, Russell Mazda, Formula Ford 2000, British Formula 3, Motorola Cup, Grand-Am and ALMS.

‘Front Row Joe,’ as he is known to his fellow Grand-Am competitors, is one of the fastest and most consistent drivers in the series. The highlight of Foster’s career came in 2008 when he won the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series Championship with co-driver Scott Maxwell. The Foster-Maxwell pairing won two races (Mosport and Barber) on their way to the driver’s crown. Multimatic Motorsports, running the FR500C Mustang for Hypersport Racing, also won the team’s and manufacturer’s championships.

Joe Foster was the Chief Driving Instructor of the Panoz Racing School for ten years, and has more recently been instructing the Miller Performance Training Center at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. Patrick Dempsey was one of Foster’s students, and the two have been racing ever since in the Rolex Series GT class, and became business partners and co-drivers at Dempsey Racing.

Early in his career, Joe moved to Europe to pursue open-wheel racing in the British Formula 3 series. After his season was cut short due to a road accident, Joe moved back to the USA and the Atlanta area, and began educational pursuits in conjunction with physical rehabilitation. Foster graduated from Georgia Tech at the top of his Mechanical Engineering class and continued on to receive a Masters of Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in composite materials manufacturing. His technical understanding of race cars combined with his many years behind the wheel made him a critical part of the Multimatic Motorsports team.

Foster was retained by Multimatic Motorsports for 2012 to be Scott Maxwell’s teammate in the #55 Aston Martin Vantage V8, bringing a wealth of car development expertise to the team as well as solid qualifying and race results.
