2016

2016

– Multimatic Motorsports’ 2016 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge campaign was truly dominant: the team’s single Ford Shelby GT350R-C faced a small but strong GS grid and delivered six pole positions, six wins, and championship titles for Scott Maxwell, Billy Johnson, and Ford.

– Multimatic Motorsports Europe was established as a base for a campaign in the FIA World Endurance Championship, fielding two Multimatic-engineered Ford GT race cars driven by Andy Priaulx, Stefan Muecke, Harry Tincknell and Olivier Pla, with part-season drives by Billy Johnson and Marino Franchitti. The organization teamed with Chip Ganassi Racing for an international effort that saw Ford reach its milestone goal of an LMGTE Pro class victory at Le Mans on the 50th anniversary of its 1966 win.
